Welcome to Our Site! Please take a look around to learn more about the work we're doing to prevent drowning deaths and water related injuries in our community and abroad.
THANK YOU! To everyone who supported our recent Zumbathon! It was a huge success! Photos are posted on our Facebook page and we will be adding them to our website soon!
What's the Risk?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every day about ten people die from unintentional drowning. Of these, two are children aged 14 or younger.
Our mission is to educate and train children and adults how to be safe while in and around water. We provide water safety education in the pool and the classroom. We visit schools, churches, and other community organizations. We leverage social media by using our platform to tell anyone who will listen that "Drowning and other water related injury is preventable" and tell them how to do it.
Drowning is entirely preventable through education and training. While our organization targets lower socioeconomic families that can't afford to pay market rates for swimming instruction, we know that drowning knows no class, background, race or gender. It can happen to ANYONE who doesn't behave safely while in and around water, including those who know how to swim.
Our programs and services are available to anyone that desires to learn how to be safer while in and around water. Parents and caregivers would never allow their young children to play with a handgun yet the risk of drowning or water related injury is greater. Drowning prevention is within YOUR reach!.
As the only organization in Ohio solely dedicated to drowning prevention, we partner with several organizations here in Toledo and around the United States to fulfill our mission. Our strategic collaborations allow us to reach more and more families each year.

Financial gifts in any amount are greatly appreciated. The Josh Project relies on the kindness of others to subsidize our water safety training programs. Every family that participates pays a small registration fee and the remaining costs associated with pool time, instructors and program management are supported through gifts from people like you.
